THREAD LIFT
A thread lift is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure designed to address sagging or aging skin. Over time, the breakdown of elastin fibers and connective tissues causes the skin to lose its firmness, resulting in a drooping appearance that contributes to an aged look. Traditionally, the only way to tackle this issue was through a surgical facelift, which required a lengthy recovery period. Nowadays, Polydioxanone (PDO) threads offer a non-surgical alternative by lifting and tightening the skin. These threads are inserted beneath the skin, creating a lifting effect that enhances skin firmness in targeted areas.
How does Thread Lift work?
A thread lift can deliver cosmetic benefits in two ways. The threads create a mechanical lifting action that tightens skin and pulls out wrinkles and folds. When this happens, the body responds to the invasion by producing its own collagen. This is a defense mechanism – aimed at fighting off the foreign body. As threads dissolve, they are absorbed into the body triggering the production of yet more collagen. This naturally-occurring substance fills out the face, enhancing the results of the initial procedure and prolonging the benefits.
